Li Ning

Li NingLi Ning, retired after the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and entered the business community. With his "Li Ning brand" clothing and Jianlibao beverage he sponsored a variety of sports activities, which made a great contribution for the sports development cause of China. The "genius", "prodigy", "gymnastics industry giant," "Chinese ace" and so on seem to tell us how much honor can be obtained for an athlete in gymnastics community.

In 1963, Li Ning was born in Guangxi. 7-year-old, he began practicing gymnastics; 17-year-old entered the national gymnastics team; 26-year-old retired. In 1981, he won three champions of men’s free exercise, pommel horse, and stationary rings in the World University Games. 1982 Sixth World Cup Gymnastic Competition, Li Ning, a man who scored all seven gold medals in the six, created the myth of the history of the world gymnastics, known as "gymnastics prince." In 1984, the 23rd Los Angeles Olympic Games, Li Ning received 3 gold 2 silver 1 bronze medals near 1/5 of the total number of the Chinese delegation. In 1985, He won rings champion in the World Gymnastics Championships. In 1986, he won men’s individual all-around, floor exercise, and pommel horse in the seventh World Cup gymnastics… Involved in gymnastics for 10 years, Li Ning totally received the gold medals as many as 106. He has been named by the world’s sports press association "the world’s best athletes of twentieth century". His name along with Muhammad Ali, Pele, Michael Jordan and other 25 sports stars ascended the sport summit of the century.

In the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, "Li Ning brand" was selected as the dedicated equipment to accept award, thus ending the history that Chinese athletes wearing foreign sports branded clothing at the Olympics. After a decade of development, "Li Ning" has become the first Chinese sports . Now, Li Ning is leading his own company towards the goal to be an international brand. Agency agreements have been signed with overseas distributors in multiple countries and regions…

He also founded "Li Ning, Guangxi Foundation" and "Zhen Mei Foundation" in his hometown, Guangxi region, dedicated to the education, sports and other public welfare.
